Your Guide to Mississauga's Live Outdoor Comedy Festival

Get ready to laugh until you cry. The one-of-a-king Mississauga Live Outdoor Comedy Festival, also known as the Great Outdoors Comedy Festival (GOCF), coming for the first time to Mississauga this September, is your chance to enjoy the beauty of nature alongside comedic sets making up a weekend of upbeat vibes and lots of laughter.

Curious to know what this epic festival is about? We’ve got everything you need to know below.

What to Expect

The festival takes place at the beautiful Erindale Park, one of Mississauga’s favourite (and largest) parks known for scenic walks, nature viewing, and its stretch along the Credit River ravine. It runs from September 11 to 13, and features top-standing comics from all over.

Tickets can be purchased through the GOCF website for an afternoon or evening single show, a 1-day pass, a weekend pass, and even as group tickets. As this is a licensed festival, it is a 19+ event with afternoon shows starting at 12:00 pm and evening shows starting at 5:30 pm.

You can expect comedian Donovan Workun, otherwise known as Park Ranger Donovan Workun and his sassy sidekick Rudy the Raccoon to warm things up before and in between the big acts. You’ll find a variety of jokes and stories, from clean to dirty; the key is to look up the acts beforehand so you can ensure you’re attending those you want to see.

Comedic talent includes a variety of comedians such as John Mulaney, Adam Ray, Katherine Blanford, Jordan Jensen, Hasan Minhaj, and so much more. While this may be the first time this comedy festival is coming to Mississauga, it’s been running in other Canadian cities since 2021 and has an efficient formula down.

As a festival with chill vibes reminiscent of spending time in the great outdoors, a (festival-approved) camping chair and cozy blanket for cooler evenings should be on your to-bring list, unless you bought a VIP ticket, which includes seating. There will be lots of vendors to choose from, both savoury and sweet, so be sure to come hungry. And plenty of drinks to go around.
