This August, Mississauga has lots of ongoing regular events, from fitness evenings to open mic events, movie nights to farmers markets, all this and more, ensuring you get out of the house and enjoy the best of summer in the city.
August Ongoing Events and Multi-Day Highlights
Central Lions Farmers Market – Don’t miss out on the finest fresh produce and goodies every Wednesday at Celebration Square from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm. It’s a great way to support your local farmers and businesses.
Travel back in time to the Jurassic era and explore an immersive work of animatronic dinosaurs and interactive exhibits in Jurassic Quest. This family-friendly event takes place from August 7 to August 9 at The International Centre and includes LEGO®-themed play zones, educational games, and sparks the imagination.
The amazing Summer Music Concert Series continues its amazing lineup of artists throughout August every Friday in Village Square from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm.
Get your yoga on with Yoga in the Square, an ongoing free Streetsville event that continues on through August, Friday mornings from 9:00 to 10:00 am.
Explore Streetsville with the Historic Walking Tour. August has two dates, August 9 and August 26, featuring a tour of the Remains of Streetsville’s Riverside Mills and the Anishinaabe of Early Mississauga, respectively.
Dance away your troubles with Salsa in the Square in Streetsville Saturday evenings from 6:30 to 9:30 pm.
Stock up on your local favourites of fresh produce, baked goods, crafts, and more at the Saturday Port Credit Farmers Market from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Legend of the Museum Comic Book and Exhibition hosted at Benares Historic House tells the story of a remarkable journey of the Museums of Mississauga brought to life through the work of artist Daniel Wong. August has multiple dates to choose from.
A League of Our Own: Mississauga Sports Exhibition takes place at Adamson Estate and features the story of Mississauga’s local athletes, teams, and coaches. August is full of dates; don’t miss out on your chance to learn the history of Mississauga sports.
Visit the Small Arms Inspection building every Sunday through August from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm to shop the Lakeview Farmers’ Market. Stock up on fresh and local produce, artisanal crafts, and enjoy live music and a great community atmosphere.
Open Air Storytime presented by TD is around for two more Wednesdays this August and is an event that children of all ages love. It’s a great opportunity to spread the love of reading to all.
Looking to get some more free movement this August? Try Fresh Air Fitness presented by TD at Celebration Square every Wednesday from 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm. August fitness includes Zumba, Yoga, Zumba/Bollywood, and Yoga/Pilates Blend, respectively.
If you love celebrating local talent, or maybe you’d like to try showcasing your own, head over to Celebration Square Wednesday evenings throughout August for Amphitheatre Unplugged, from 8:00 pm until 9:30 pm. From musicians, dancers, comedians, to spoken word, all forms of craft are welcome.
Movie Nights presented by INsauga is your chance to catch a great movie every Thursday evening from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm at Celebration Square. Movies to be shown are Bad Guys 2, The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants, Wicked: For Good, and How to Train Your Dragon: Live Action, respectively.
Finishing up its run in August, On the Verandah Outdoor Concert Series 2026 is a free outdoor music series helping connect music with the great outdoors. Support the Friends of the Museums and the performers in this unique experience.
Get the kids out of the house Saturday afternoons with the Saturday Family Fun at Bradley Museum with multiple options throughout August. It’s a relaxed afternoon of crafts and games and a great way to build memories with the whole family.

August Cultural Festivals and Celebrations
The Mississauga World Music Festival is a free two-day event at Streetsville Village Square on August 1 to August 2. Enjoy performances from artists like Maple Arts Band, Illara & Hikaya Band, and more. Soak in the culture of the world in this entertaining festival.
Port Credit Ribfest X 2026 returns with the best of ribs, brisket, pulled pork, and all your BBQ favourites, like boomin’ onion and roasted corn. This three-day event runs from August 7 until August 9 at Memorial Park, is pet-friendly, and includes a free concert, face painting, a marketplace, and is only $5 to get in (ages 11 and up).
The Mississauga Latin Festival is on from August 7 to August 9 at Celebration Square. Experience the vibrant music, dance, and flavour in the food and culture of Latin America.
The Mississauga Hong Kong Festival is your chance to experience the best of Hong Kong, from the World Kongers Cup soccer competition, basketball tournament, yummy street food, games, crafts, and more. Don’t miss out on this family fun event that runs from August 15 to 16.
Another great festival that takes place from August 15 to 16 is the Japan Festival Canada at Celebration Square. Come out and experience this free event that draws in crowds for the delicious food, pop culture, vendors, special guests, and more.
Mississauga Italfest 2026 returns for another weekend of Italian eats, music, and performances. Immerse yourself in the culture with a bocce ball tournament, pasta and watermelon eating contest, local Italian vendors, and lots of heritage.
The end of August closes with MuslimFest. From August 28 until August 30, celebrate the spirit of what it is to be a Muslim with live performances, scrumptious food, and a bazaar. This free event is happening at Celebration Square and is a great time for the whole family.
August 1-7 Events
August 1: KOPI Hiphop Jazz Collective comes to Cooksville Four Corners for an evening of musical collaboration of two well-loved genres.
August 1: Head over to Meadowvale Theatre to experience Maestro Anwar Abudragh with Gaby Al Botros & Music Without Borders, an evening of beautiful melodies from Iraqi traditions.
August 2: Can’t get enough of Dorothy, Blanche, Rose, and Sophia? Then don’t miss your chance to see them again in Golden Girls: The Laughs Continue at the Living Arts Centre, an afternoon event to laugh your worries away.
August 7: The First Friday Market finishes up its season from 5:00 to 9:00 pm at Streetsville Village Square. Enjoy the atmosphere of this free event and shop the small-batch treats, enjoy some local music, and support local vendors.
June 8-15 Events
August 8: Family Fun Day is a great free event to celebrate National Public Works Week at the Living Arts Centre. Come for equipment displays, bouncy castles, and bus tours.
August 8: Enjoy the 7th International Humility, Kindness and Love Conference at Mississauga Sports and Entertainment Centre (formerly Paramount Fine Foods Centre). Bring the whole family for this free event that includes food and entertainment.
August 8: Blk Orchid and Dudsymil, two iconic Canadian artists, are coming to Cooksville Four Corners to put on a performance of Reggae, R&B, and Dancehall in this free event from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.
August 8: Beyond The Last Breath is your chance to capture the conversation of what happens after death. Dig deep into this existential question from 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm at Meadowvale Theatre.
August 9: Grab the whole family and head to Streetsville Village Square for August’s Movie Night showing Zootopia 2. Pick up a local favourite treat to go with the movie from one of Streetsville’s surrounding businesses.
August 9: Rad Ride & Shine 2026 is your chance to hit the streets with others who love to ride. Register for your chance to tour the city, see some Big Air competitions, and the return of Flatland, or come out for free to watch.
August 10: Erin Mills Block Party is a fun way to shop local, enjoy live music, discover local artisans, do some watercolouring, and more. This is a free, all-ages event that celebrates Studio.89’s 10th anniversary and The Daniels Corporation’s 40th anniversary.
August 13: Boho Inspired Tote Bag Painting lets you design and paint your own boho bag using stencils and a reusable tote bag. Purchase your tickets and head on over to the Small Arms Inspection Building from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm and get inspired.
August 13: If you’re growing a garden this season and could use a few tips as a beginner, don’t miss out on Pruning Your Veggie Garden 101, a live tutorial at the Small Arms Inspection Building.
August 13: Discover Mahjong: History, Culture & Connection and learn the game that has been loved for over a century at the Small Arms Inspection Building.
August 14: Flashback is your chance to travel back to the best of Rock ‘N’ Roll and classic rock from the 60s, 70s, and 80s at Streetsville Village Square.
August 15: Enjoy the sweet harmonies of Ryan and Catherine at Cooksville Four Corners in this free concert from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.
August 15: Immerse yourself in a tribute to the legends of South Asia, with fusions of Pakistani, Classical, and Jazz music with Shallum Xavier Presents: Saagar. Get your tickets to this evening concert at the Living Arts Centre.
August 15: BLACK GOLD Decades of Solid Gold Hits! Is your chance to enjoy two hours of famous songs from the best decades of music, including songs from artists like Whitney Houston, The Temptations, Barry White, and so much more.
August 16 – 31 Events
August 16: Enjoy an evening with Toni Anderson & Friends at Port Credit Memorial Park as she sings from her roots of jazz, rhythm and blues, and neo soul in this free concert.
August 21: What better way to spend an evening at Streetsville Village Square than with Mississauga local singer-songwriter Matt Zaddy, as he performs songs in the style of folk-rock, soul, R&B, and Americana.
August 22: Sonority Sisters bring a beautiful blend of violin and flute to audiences in a creative way. Come out for a free showing of their talents from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at Cooksville Four Corners.
August 22: Meadowvale Theatre presents a Vietnamese music performance: CDTG.6_CHO EM QUEN TUOI NGOC that is not to be missed.
August 23: Head on over to Port Credit Memorial Park and enjoy a free concert of rising Canadian country-pop artist Kendra Gabrielle as she serenades the audience with her strong vocals and beautifully written songs.
August 28: Winner of Musician of the Year, the Curtis Freeman Band comes to Streetsville Village Square for an evening of engaging bass and instrumental tunes.
August 29: Eman Pirzada and Friends welcome you to an evening of contemporary R&B, neo-soul, and blues sounds influenced by South Asian classical training at Cooksville Four Corners.
August 30: Get ready for an evening of laughter with Passport & Punchlines at Meadowvale Theatre. Join Learnmore Jonasi as he shares humorous stories based on his Zimbabwean roots.
