The "9.4" Phenomenon: Pho Ngoc Yen
When the world’s most famous food critic, Keith Lee, visited the GTHA in March 2026, his stop at Pho Ngoc Yen sent shockwaves through the community. Rating their beef short rib pho a staggering 9.4/10, he called it “the best pho I’ve ever had in my life.”
This family-run powerhouse was also a favorite of R&B icon Kehlani, who praised it as the “best Vietnamese food” they’d ever tasted. While they now have multiple locations, it all started right here in Mississauga at the original location on Kamato Road.
The Champagne Papi's Choice: La Castille
For a touch of old-world glamour and high-end steakhouse vibes, La Castille is the place to be. This legendary establishment has hosted everyone from Drake to Tony Bennett and Woody Harrelson.
Known for its majestic decor and tuxedo-clad service, it’s a favourite for those seeking privacy and a premium cut of beef. Rumour has it that during his visit, Woody Harrelson famously wrote his order on a napkin to maintain a vow of silence!
A Hometown Hero’s Favourite: Kerala Curry House
Mississauga native and Hollywood star Maitreyi Ramakrishnan (Never Have I Ever) never forgets her roots. She has publicly shouted out Kerala Curry House as her go-to spot for authentic Tamil and South Indian flavors.
