SEASONAL EXPERIENCES

  • Summer at the Square: If you’re looking for free fun and entertainment for the whole family, there’s no better place to be this summer than Celebration Square! From music to movie nights, fitness classes and weekly story times for little ones, Tim Hortons Summer at the Square is bringing visitors a full line-up of activities:
    • Try a new workout, from Bollywood dancing to Zumba, every Wednesday at Fresh Air Fitness presented by TD.
    • Twice a month, see touching tales and action-packed adventures under the stars during Movie Nights presented by INsauga.
    • Bring the kids to hear weekly Wednesday mornings stories at Open Air Storytime presented by TD.
    • On Wednesday evenings throughout August, see live performances by musicians, spoken word artists, dancers, comedians and everything in between during Amphitheatre Unplugged.
  • Farmers’ Markets: There’s nothing more delicious than food straight from the farm. Find the freshest produce along with artisan and locally-crafted products at markets throughout Mississauga all summer long. For a mid-week fix, visit the Lions Farmers’ Market on Wednesdays at Celebration Square. On Saturdays, shop for the most unique finds in Port Credit. Get a double dose of local shopping on Sundays at the indoor Lakeview Farmers’ Markets and the Lions Farmers’ Market downtown.

  • Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue: Until September, Minecrafters, gamers, and adventurers can embark on an epic journey to rescue villagers from a zombie attack in this immersive quest at Square One. Interact with pandas and dolphins, face off against creepers, and search for critical resources to save the day, then celebrate your success at the Trading Post by purchasing a memento to take home.

  • One Million Sunflowers: Enjoy a slice of nature right in Mississauga’s urban centre at Lakeview Village’s sunflower field. Visit in late August or early September to see the incredible one million blooms at their best.

HOLIDAYS AND SPECIAL OCCASIONS

  • National Indigenous Peoples Day: On June 21, join in a celebration of Indigenous culture, art and tradition with an evening of events and entertainment at Celebration Square in collaboration with the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. Exciting Indigenous voices will take to the stage in a dynamic line-up, including headliner Tanya Tagaq, Polaris Music Prize & JUNO award-winning Inuk throat singer. During the entertainment, visit the artisan market to shop for handcrafted goods and see the premiere of a new large-scale artwork by Métis craftsperson, Sawmill Sid.

  • Canada Day: Take part in festivities throughout the city as Mississauga celebrates Canada Day. Paint the Town Red in Port Credit with live music, street performers, live shows, midway rides, vendors, a kid zone, and more, starting at noon. For more unmissable family fun, experience the Canada Day at Celebration Square, an epic party including live performances, Camp Canuck for kids, food trucks, and of course, fireworks to end the night.

ANNUAL FESTIVALS AND EVENTS

  • JACKALOPE: One of the world’s biggest action sports festivals returns to Mississauga for three thrilling days of skateboarding, bouldering, base jumping, breaking and Moto X competitions and displays. From July 11 – 13, international pros, amateurs and fans alike will take over Celebration Square – and you can watch the action for free! During the festival, experience epic showdowns, demos, pop-up shopping, and DJ sets bringing you the best party around.

  • Mississauga Latin Festival: From July 18 – 20, immerse yourself in a celebration of Latin culture as the Mississauga Latin Festival takes over Celebration Square. Enjoy a vibrant cultural parade, non-stop entertainment, Latino food, and an artisan market as you experience the proud heritage, traditions and joyful spirit of the Latino-Canadian community.

  • Port Credit Buskerfest: Visit the Port from August 15 – 17 as street artists take over to perform their unique talents throughout the village. From fire dancers to acrobats, musicians and magicians, there are dozens of exciting acts to see, along with an artisan market and food trucks.

  • #BollywoodMonster Mashup 2025: See live entertainment featuring Bollywood stars, laser shows, music and dance performances at this free, multi-day South Asian arts festival. Visit Celebration Square from July 25 – 26 for activities the whole family will love, a huge selection of food vendors, shopping and more.

  • Japan Festival Canada 2025: This year, Japan Festival Canada marks its 10th anniversary with an unparalleled free event at Celebration Square, happening August 16 – 17. Explore traditional arts, anime, and pop culture like never before with thrilling live performances, authentic cuisine, incredible vendors, innovative tech displays, interactive cultural experiences and exciting entertainment.

  • Mississauga Italfest: Explore the rich culture and heritage of Italy at Celebration Square from August 22 – 23. Visit pavilions showcasing historical displays, enjoy live entertainment across two stages, including performances just for kids, taste delicious authentic foods, see stilt walkers and participate in fun family activities.
  • MuslimFest 2025: Visit the world’s largest Muslim arts festival in Mississauga from August 29 – 31. See more than 50 renowned local and international artists on stage throughout the weekend, shop at the curated bazaar, participate in workshops, and discover many more exciting activities for all ages, happening in the Square.

  • Southside Shuffle Blues & Jazz Festival: Back for its 27th year, don’t miss your chance to get tickets for this non-profit, award-winning blues and jazz festival celebrating Canadian homegrown talent. Taking place in Port Credit from September 5 – 7, visitors can enjoy performances across two free stages in addition to the main ticketed stage, along with a free Saturday afternoon street party, with even more live music in restaurants throughout the Port.

SPORTS AND RECREATION

  • Swimming and Splash Pads: No need to hide away indoors to escape the heat! Mississauga has dozens of fun spray pads, plus seven outdoor pools that are perfect for a refreshing dip. A trip to The Fountain, Mississauga’s popular wading pool, is a must for every summertime excursion. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, the city also has another 12 indoor pools. For fun, kid-friendly amenities, give Clarkson Community Centre a try and make a splash with the slide, diving board, spray features and basketball net.

  • Boating and Water Sports: If you love spending your summer days on the water, Mississauga is your perfect urban adventure Bring your canoe, kayak or paddleboard, or rent one from the water sports pros at Paddle On, and head out on Lake Ontario or the Credit River to make waves while you catch some rays.

  • CPKC Women’s Open: See the stars of the LPGA Tour as Mississauga Golf and Country Club hosts Canada’s National Women’s Open Championship from August 18-24, 2025. Get your tickets for this ‘grand slam’ happening on the grounds where some of the sports greats have once played.

  • Sauga Parks and Beaches: With hundreds of parks, there are endless ways to enjoy the outdoors in Mississauga this summer. Visit one of the three beaches to relax on the sand or challenge your crew to some volleyball. Practice your swing at Streetsville Memorial Park’s batting cages, then head to the diamond for a softball game. For a little bit of everything, take a trip to Lake Aquitaine Park and take advantage of the many amenities, including an outdoor fitness circuit, picnic areas, disc golf, a soccer field, and trails surrounding the water.
