Event of The Month
The Great Outdoors Comedy Festival (GOCF) is making its inaugural debut in Mississauga this month and is not to be missed. It celebrates comedy and being in the great outdoors at Erindale Park from September 11 to 13. This multi-day event includes a variety of top-tier comedians and is a 19+ event with food and drinks to be had. Here’s everything you need to know about the Great Outdoors Comedy Festival.
September Ongoing Events and Multi-Day Highlights
Central Lions Farmers Market takes place every Wednesday at Celebration Square from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm. It’s your chance to find top local produce, yummy treats, and other fun finds.
The Port Credit Farmers Market runs from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm every Saturday and includes rows of vendors showcasing the best local produce, handmade goods, and a fun atmosphere.
The Small Arms Inspection Building hosts every Sunday the Lakeview Farmers’ Market. It will include handcrafted goods, live music, fresh local produce, and so much more.
The Lakeview Artisan Market is a bi-weekly Sunday market running in tandem with the Lakeview Market at the historic Small Arms Inspection Building and runs until October 25. You’ll find over 30 vendors showcasing artisanal creations of textiles to prints, ceramics, and more.
Get out and enjoy the outdoors and movement with Fresh Air Fitness presented by TD at Celebration Square every Wednesday at 7:00 pm.
A League of Our Own: Mississauga Sports Exhibition is coming to a close this September with 5 more dates left to attend this amazing exhibition. This is your last chance to capture the history of Mississauga sports.
Movie Nights presented by INsauga are hosted in Celebration Square. September’s movie is the updated Karate Kid featuring Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan; a great event for the whole family.
Looking for something fun to do with the family on the weekend? Check out Saturday Family Fun at Bradley Museum where the kids can do some crafts and you all can have a relaxed and educational time together.
If you couldn’t get out for Saturday Fun, why not try Sunday Family Fun at Benares Historic House? Another drop-in event that helps keep kids occupied while spending time together as a family.
Legend of the Museum Comic Book and Exhibition comes to Adamson Estate at the Benares Visitor Centre, featuring a new comic book in partnership with Heritage Mississauga. This is a multi-day event throughout September.
Project Development Lab for Independent Musicians is a three-part introductory workshop with the intention of helping independent musicians and their creative projects. While this is a pay-what-you-can event, the Hazel McCallion Library suggests $60 to cover the cost of instruction and more.
Art in the Park is a free, family-friendly event that runs from September 19 to 20 at the Visual Arts Mississauga at Riverwood. Join in the fun of live music, interactive drop-in art activities, and over 70 local artist works.
Taste of Cooksville returns for another year of great food in a vibrant community. With over 100 vendors participating, it’s a great chance to taste what makes this pocket of Mississauga so great. Don’t miss out on your chance to experience a mix of local flavours from September 19 to September 20.
The Summer Music Concert Series happens every Friday in Village Square from 7:00 to 8:30 pm and is your chance to soak in some beautiful music.
Salsa in the Square is a fun and lively way to spend your Saturday evening. Dance away your troubles in Village Square from 6:30 to 9:30 pm.
September Cultural Festivals and Celebrations
Navrang Navratri Festival Canada 2026 will take place Friday, September 4 to September 7 at the International Centre. Expect a live Garba folk dance performance by Atul Purohit.
The 2nd Annual Mississauga Moon and Lantern Festival returns from September 4 to 7 at Square One Shopping Centre. Brought to you by the Ontario Asian Night Market Series, so you can expect shopping, food vendors, mooncakes, and lots of fun, family activities.
The Egyptian Coptic Festival is a free event at Celebration Square from September 5 to 6. Celebrate traditional Egyptian cuisine, live performances with music, artisan vendors, and more.
Tim Hortons South Side Shuffle, also known as the 28th Annual Port Credit Blues and Jazz Festival, celebrates jazz and blues melodies across Port Credit Memorial Park. Be sure to pop by on September 11 to 13
The Philippine Festival Mississauga is a free festival on September 11 to 13 at Celebration Square that draws in people from all over. You’ll find interactive games, traditional performances, and lots of delicious food.
The Lakeview Garlic Lovers’ Festival is your chance to eat garlic-flavoured recipes, learn more about the bulb, and have fun with family activities. It takes place on September 13 at the Small Arms Inspection Building.
The Afrocan Roots & Rhythms Festival 2026 takes place at Celebration Square from September 18 to 19. Enjoy the vibes, music, dance, and community spirit, along with a lot of AfroCarribean food.
Portugalo Fest 2026 is a free event for all that takes place at Port Credit Memorial Park on Saturday, September 19. Soak up the culture, traditions, and food of Portugal.
Join in the celebration of Mississauga’s Largest Coptic Community Festival on September 19 with the SMPK 4th annual Nayrouz Festival. Experience a virtual reality journey through Egypt, take advantage of photo booths, and network with others in the community.
The 3rd Annual of Arts of the Middle East Festival returns to Celebration Square for a multi-day celebration on September 25 to 26 of Middle East culture, traditions, food, and more. This free event includes a lively bazaar, food vendors, and fun entertainment for the whole family.
September 1-7 Events
September 4: Joaquin Nunez and Habana Safari are headed to Streetsville Village Square for a free event of dynamic music. Enjoy the rhythms of Cuban and jazz music.
September 4: Nightingale brings an evening of enchanting Canadian Arabic music at the Living Arts Centre. Get your tickets online to experience Abdel Halim Hafez performing beautiful songs of tribute.
September 5: Join in the entertainment of Barahmé, a Mississauga-based-artist. as he addresses themes of toxic masculinity through his songs.
September 5: “Shaam-e-Tabassum” with Bushra Ansari is coming to Meadowvale Theatre for an evening of fun and laughter in this engaging performance.
September 6: Shallum Xavier is headed to Port Credit Memorial Park for an evening of music and fun. This is a free event that brings a blend of South Asian, classical, Western Rock, and more.
September 8-15 Events
September 10: If you love making collages and collecting magazines, then be sure to check out the Zine History and Collage Workshop at the Small Arms Inspection Building with Hannah Browne. Learn about the history of magazines, independent publishing, and more as well as participate in the creative workshop.
September 10: Get ready to move your body at the Indian Fusion Dance Workshop at the Small Arms Inspection Building. Follow along with instructor Asha Ponnachan as she teaches you to dance, connect with your body, and build your confidence through dance.
September 12: The Mississauga Parkinson Canada SuperWalk is your chance to support a great cause. Whether you choose to take part, support someone who is, or just want to donate, don’t miss out on this event. Pre-registration is highly encouraged.
September 12: Mississauga Literary Festival is a wonderful free event that encourages reading and supports authors through book-themed activities, author showcases, and even has a special keynote Author Talk. While you are more than welcome to drop in, it helps keep track of numbers to register beforehand.
September 12: The Streetsville Fall Market is set to run in the Village Square. It will have local vendors, kids’ activities, free face painting, music, and more from 12:00 to 7:00 pm. Don’t miss out on this fun, fall-themed activity.
September 12: Grafficker Alley 2026 is a fun event for self-published artists wanting to showcase and promote their work. This is an all-ages, free event at the Small Arms Inspection Building.

September 13: The Great Canadian Halloween Market is back for some fun, spooky shopping at the Luxe Convention Centre. Shop and support local artisans for horror collectibles, Halloween apparel and décor.
September 13: The 2026 Mississauga Music Walk of Fame celebrates internationally acclaimed Emmy Award winning musician and composer, Don Breithaup and founder of The Guitar Workshop Plus, Brian Murray, as they are inducted into the Mississauga Music Walk of Fame.

September 16: Take It to the Limit – The Music & Legacy of the Eagles is coming to Meadowvale Theatre for an evening of Eagles’ hits, including Hotel California, Take it Easy, Heartache Tonight, and more.
September 18: Hans Raj Hans LIVE is coming to the Living Arts Centre for a night of devotional and Punjabi music. Get your tickets for this spiritual and enlightening event.
September 19: The Streetsville Butter Tarts & More Market is a free market featuring the sweet golden flaky pastries as well as a delightful marketplace to get your shop on. Come out and check it out on September 19 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
September 19: Shaam-E-Rekhta Toronto is an evening devoted to Urdu, poetry, music, and culture. Get your tickets for this event at the Living Arts Centre.
September 19: The 2026 Kaleidoscope Mid-Autumn Festival Gala is a two-hour variety show including dance, vocal performances, and more, celebrating the Chinese traditions of the mid-autumn moon.
September 24-30 Events
September 25: Kutumb Kirrtan is an all-ages performance showcasing the joint family system in a fun and entertaining way. Taking place at Meadowvale Theatre, this evening performance will be in Marathi.
September 26: Panchali – The Feminine Fire is a commanding performance of courage, honour, and resilience told by Surbhi Raninga through song and live performance at Meadowvale Theatre.
September 26: The Art of the String Orchestra showcases an epic and intimate performance with selections from Bach, Mozart, Barber, and more at the Living Arts Centre.
