What’s Happening in Mississauga This September
As the weather turns cooler, Mississauga is ushering in the start of the Fall season with some exciting experiences. Shop at unique local markets, let your creativity shine with hands-on workshops, enjoy free festivals and immerse yourself in culture with dozens of special events all happening this month.
Ongoing Events
- All year long, enjoy Family Fun at the Mississauga museums, a free, relaxed afternoon drop-in featuring crafts and games that are perfect for kids and parents alike, happening on Saturdays at Bradley Museum and Sundays at Benares Historic House.
- On select Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings until October 4, learn about Port Credit’s rich heritage with Historian Richard Collins during a Historic Walking Tour.
- On Sundays until October 26, visit the Small Arms Inspection Building for the popular Lakeview Farmers’ Market to shop from local farmers and artisans while listening to live music.
- Shop local at Celebration Square with the Lions Farmers Market from June 4 – October 15.
- Visit Celebration Square for Fresh Air Fitness presented by TD, an inspiring outdoor workout happening in the Square every Wednesday evening from June 4 – September 10.
September 1 – 7:
- September 1: Catch the final day of the Mississauga Hong Kong Festival – World Kong Cup at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre, including the playoffs and final, followed by closing ceremonies.
- September 4: Pack your blankets and get ready for some stargazing as Celebration Square hosts Movie Nights presented by INsauga featuring Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.

- September 6: Explore more than 150 tables of self-published comics, manga, zines, and artwork at the Small Arms Inspection Building in a special market event celebrating independent artists and storytellers, Grafficker Alley – Comics, Manga and Zines!
- September 6: See an incredible performance of beloved Bollywood hits as Vishal and Sheykhar: The Superhit Tour takes the stage at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre.
- September 6: Bring your pup for some water fun during the cutest event of the year, the Dogs Only Swim, happening at the City’s outdoor pools.
- September 6: Join fellow cyclists for the Malton Community Ride, a laid-back, family-friendly excursion starting at the Malton Youth Hub.
- September 6: Experience a musical journey across continents during Natalie G: Music Around The World as this singer and multi-instrumentalist performs alongside a professional 12-piece band at the Living Arts Centre.
- September 7: Treat yourself to garlic-flavoured delicacies, shop for garlic-infused products, and take home a bag of fresh garlic with a visit to the Lakeview Garlic Lovers’ Festival at the Small Arms Inspection Building.
- September 7: Bring your family for a fun open house, Discover Meadowvale Theatre, for live music, free ice cream, artist meet-and-greets, a scavenger hunt, musical activities and more.

- September 8: Learn food gardening basics at the Homegrown Mississauga Fall Season Garden Care and Maintenance Workshop at Malton Community Centre.
- September 9: Explore a debate in first-millennium South Asia about the nature and existence of absence during the latest of Mississauga Public Library’s guest speaker series, Lecture Me! Nilanjan Das at Hazel McCallion Central Library.
- September 11: Learn new skills connected to historic pastimes during More at the Museums, an interactive adults-only experience at Bradley Museum.
- September 12: Join Indwell supporters, tenants, volunteers, and staff, as well as dignitaries, sponsors, and businesses, as they come together to celebrate the Threads of Belonging during Indwell’s Mississauga Celebration Social at the Small Arms Inspection Building.
