What’s Happening in Mississauga This January
Winter is in full swing in Mississauga, and while the city may slow down to take advantage of a good winter’s rest, there are still a few epic events not to be missed this month, many of which are ongoing for a few days.
So, what are you waiting for? Make the most of the season and bundle up, head out with family and friends, and discover what’s happening across the city this month.
Ongoing Events
- Cheer on some of the best women’s curling teams in the country as Mississauga hosts the Scotties Tournament of Hearts, Canada’s national women’s curling championship, from January 23 to February 1 at Paramount Fine Foods Centre. With multiple draws daily, this is a must-see for curling fans and sports lovers alike. Get tickets here.
- APIK Mississauga is a free to enter winter festival that you cannot miss. It begins on January 30 and runs to February 1. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy the winter season and experience the best of extreme skiing and snowboarding.
- Raptors 905 have multiple days of basketball fun at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre. Come cheer on elite players as they compete for top spot in the NBA G League.
- Experience the North American International Motorcycle Supershow at the International Centre from January 9 to 11. Check out exhibitors, live bands, special guests, and more – it’s a motorcyclist’s dream.
- The Buzz Conference presents Buzz Greatness 2026. This two-day event, with pre-networking on January 27, takes place from January 28 to 29. This opportunity includes some food, networking with Real Estate savants, and lots of occasions to network.
- The Toronto Golf & Travel Show is returning for its 34th year at the International Centre. It runs from January 30 to February 1 and includes exhibitions featuring great deals on golf vacations, courses, and equipment. Get your tickets for this golf-tastic event here.
- Experience an evening of cinema during REEL Thursdays: January 2026 at the Living Arts Centre, a curated film series presented in collaboration with the TIFF Film Circuit in the venue’s cozy screening room.
- The history of Sweeney Todd – The Demon Barber of Fleet Street is a story that begs to be told. Come out and listen to the infamous tale of Sweeney Todd in this encore series that runs from January 30 to February 8 with both afternoon and evening showings.
January 1 – 12
Have the need for speed? Check out the AMA FIM Arenacross Championship at the Motorcycle SUPERSHOW that takes place at The International Centre. Rounds 4 take place on January 9, while Rounds 10 take place on January 10. Tickets must be purchased for this event.
If you enjoy documentaries, then come check out Muslims in Canada: Stories, Then & Now at the MAJA Prentice Theatre on January 10 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. It’s a great way to see Muslim history in Canada, broken down into four short films.
January 13 – 19
The Emerald’s Summit – Far From Finished will take place on January 17 from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm at the Mississauga Convention Centre. Give yourself the opportunity to learn from leading industry experts in the insurance and financial services industry.
Enjoy Marc-Anthony Sinagoga: The Family Style Tour at Meadowvale Theatre on Friday, January 16. Get ready for a night of storytelling and laughter.
Caelestia Productions brings to you a night of Musical Echoes at Meadowvale Theatre. Listen to a blend of emotional ballads to high-energy hits.
Enjoy the best of Dance music from the 90s and 2000s at Europhorum – The Party. This is a 19+ event that starts at 9:00 pm and goes until 3:00 am.
January 20 – 31
Roots of Gold is a Sundanese Gala and a great way to kick off 2026 in your best dress! Be sure to include gold in your ensemble and get ready for a memorable evening of culture, music, and great connections at the Palacio Event Centre on January 24 from 5:30 to 11:30 pm.
