Mississauga’s Top Holiday Markets: Where to Shop Local Gifts
Christmas might be a few weeks away, but there’s still plenty of time to shop the holiday markets in Mississauga. Not only will you find some unique items for all your loved ones, but you’ll support local creators, artists, and small businesses.
Here are some of the markets Mississauga has coming up, with everything you need to know about them. Happy shopping!
Merry Market at Small Arms Inspection Building (November 29th)
Come on out for the 6th annual Merry Market on November 29, where the theme is to give better gifts. Tickets can be found online for this 10 am to 4 pm day of shopping of over 100 local vendors, kids under 16 are FREE. Please also remember to bring a perishable food item to donate in support of Compass Food Bank.
Parking is free, and keep in mind that cash is the preferable form of payment, as there is no ATM on site. Also, if you purchase from three different vendors at the Merry Market, you will be entered into the raffle for your chance to win a beautiful holiday centrepiece from Pink Pamplemouse Floral Studio.
(December 5 - 7th and December 12 - 14th)
Returning for its 5th time, the Mississauga Festival of Trees celebrates art, food, and the togetherness that can only come from a welcoming community. At this event, you’ll find twinkling lights, artist creations, handmade goods that you can bring home, workshops, live entertainment, and so much more.
The Tree Art Exhibition is open every day from December 5 to 14, while the Holiday Markets and Performances take place on two weekends, December 5 to 7 and December 12 to 14. The Festival of Trees accepts donations as its form of payment, but also welcomes cash and card donations.
Interested in making your own gift to give this year? Check out one of the ongoing workshops, from beading crafts to holiday card printmaking, glass tree ornaments to a community knit night; there’s a crafty workshop for everyone. Please remember to buy your tickets in advance.

The Cranberry Christmas Market is another great chance to find some local holiday gifts and get in the festive spirit on Saturday, December 13, from 11 am to 5 pm. With entertainment from two choirs, the Mississauga Festival Choir and NeoVoce Philharmonic Choir, the holly jolly music will guide you along the 30 unique vendor stalls.
Admission is free, but nonperishable food items and personal hygiene items for the Compass Food Bank are requested. Bonus if you find all your wrappings look like a 2-year-old wrapped your gifts. You can donate to Epilepsy South Central Ontario and have them beautifully wrap your presents for you, right on site!
(December 21)
Okay, so you missed the last few markets and still need a gift. Don’t worry, this is the market for the last-minute gift shopper. On December 21 from 11 am to 4 pm, you can enjoy the festival holiday vibes as you discover unique handmade treasures, find thoughtful gifts for everyone on your list, and support local businesses.
Santa will be at the market for a few hours for those who may have missed getting a photo and a visit with him earlier. Entry is free to everyone, but an RSVP on Eventbrite is appreciated.
