Sports fans, thrill seekers and outdoor enthusiasts – now’s the time to pack your bags and plan the ultimate winter staycation. From February 7th – 9th, APIK Fest will transform Mississauga’s Celebration Square into an exhilarating snow sports destination.

Experience the action up close and explore the attractions, restaurants and amenities Mississauga has to offer with our three-day sports staycation itinerary.

DAY 1

Check-in Before You Check Out the City

Mississauga has world-class hotels throughout the city for every budget and travel style. If you’re flying in from out of town, consider the convenient airport hotels, which typically offer free shuttles. If you want to stay close to the action at APIK, Delta Toronto Mississauga is just moments away by foot. Other nearby options include Hilton Garden Inn Toronto/Mississauga and Four Points by Sheraton Toronto Mississauga.

Kick Off Your Staycation with Snow Sports

Next, head to Celebration Square for 5 p.m. to catch the APIK kickoff. Get your adrenaline fix as you watch the incredible athletes ski, board and snow skate the custom installation, Mount Celebration Square, set against the bustling city backdrop. Standing nearly as tall as the surrounding buildings, the snowpark will make for some epic runs.

Day one highlights include a snowskate demo with Canadian handmade snowskate manufacturer Ambition Snowskates, and tons of incredible pro-athlete guests hitting the slope.

Catch a G-League Game

Keep the excitement going with tickets to see some of the up-and-coming basketball stars of the NBA G League as the Raptors 905 challenge the Osceola Magic at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre.

Dine Downtown

When you’re ready to eat, there are endless downtown Mississauga restaurants to choose from. If you’re staying at the Delta, the on-site restaurant Driftwood Social Bar + Table serves up international cuisine and craft cocktails until 11 p.m. every night. If you’re looking to extend your night out, Bar 6ix is one of the city’s most popular sports bars, with dozens of screens, including many tableside TVs, and the biggest variety of wing flavours in Sauga. With a live DJ, you can keep the party going until 2 a.m.

DAY 2

Start with the Breakfast of Champions

Grab a quick bite at The Food District, home to over 20 eateries, including fast casual and dine-in spots. For a hit of protein, grab an egg sandwich served on Japanese milk bread at one of Mississauga’s newest restaurants, Egg Club. Pair it with a fresh cold-press juice from Refuel Juicery

Visit Square One to Update Your Drip

While you’re in Mississauga, you can’t miss a stop at Ontario’s largest mall. Check out Throwback Vault to grab some pre-loved sports gear, from jerseys to jackets, including classic, hard-to-find and vintage items. Need some new winterwear? Stop by Moncler for some luxe looks or Vans for the coolest action sports ‘fits. At MEC, you can also find a wide variety of snow sports gear, including a new set of skis and tuning equipment.

During your visit to Square One, explore the Lunar New Year display in the Grand Rotunda, on until February 11th, to learn about the meaning of your zodiac sign. Square One also offers special promotions for guests, so make sure to take full advantage.

Watch the Superstars of Skiing

Starting at 12 p.m., APIK is back at Celebration Square for a full day of winter sports, including the ski competition. See some of the world’s most skilled skiers jam and show off their best tricks. The festival will have some tasty food trucks on-site, plus DJs spinning all day long.

See Live Lacrosse

Take a break from winter sports to warm up indoors while supporting more talented local athletes. Head to the Paramount Fine Foods Centre for an action-packed evening as the Toronto Rock face-off against the San Diego Seals.

Join the After-Party

From 10:30 p.m. until late, APIK is taking the excitement after hours with a party at The Rec Room. Eat, drink and mingle with friends, athletes, and fellow fans to close out the night. For a tasty cocktail that’s perfect for sharing, try the Staycation cocktail tower. Along with food, music and good vibes, you can have fun getting your game on at the arcade, or try your hand at one of the world’s oldest sports, archery.

DAY 3

Fuel Up at a Fan-Favourite

Start your day at GameTime Mississauga with the special weekend brunch, featuring unique takes on breakfast faves like Avocado Toast Pizza, Breakfast Tacos and the popular Brunch Burger. Hit up the gaming area, including an arcade, bowling and sports, for some friendly competition with your crew.

Climb Some Crags

Whether you’re a new or advanced climber, plan a drop-in to Up the Bloc for some unforgettable bouldering. There are plenty of routes to challenge every skill level, along with a kilter board, moonboard and a six-lane campus board, for more ways to test yourself. For fitness buffs, the gym also features a workout and weightlifting area.

See APIKs Snowboarding Pros
