National Indigenous Peoples Day 2026

National Indigenous Peoples Day returns to Celebration Square on June 21, bringing an evening of music, culture, storytelling, and community connection. Presented in collaboration with the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation, the event showcases Indigenous talent through a diverse lineup of performances that celebrate both tradition and contemporary expression.

Headlining the evening is JUNO-nominated artist Tia Wood, recognized for her captivating vocals and modern R&B sound that continues to inspire audiences across the country.

Guests can experience an exciting mix of performances throughout the evening, from traditional hand drumming and round dance music to contemporary hip-hop and DJ sets. The saugaLIVE stage will feature returning favourites Manitou Mkwa Singers and MR. SAUGA, alongside performances by Qattuu and DJ Kookum.

The celebration will be hosted by Indigenous youth advocate and content creator Kairyn Potts and local artist MR. SAUGA (Jordan Jamieson).

Beyond the performances, visitors can explore the Artisan Marketplace, featuring handcrafted goods, jewelry, artwork, and unique creations from Indigenous makers. Families and community members are invited to come together for an evening that celebrates Indigenous culture, creativity, and connection through music, art, and shared experiences.
