Free Concerts, Culture and Family Fun at #BollywoodMonster Mashup

Something monstrously fun is coming to Celebration Square! Get ready for a one-of-a-kind South Asian celebration as #BollywoodMonster mash-up returns to downtown Mississauga from July 25 – 26, with free concerts, tasty food, incredible shopping and exciting activities for the whole family.

Admission:

Admission is free for all, but if you RSVP online, you can be entered to win prize packs including gift cards, merch and an exclusive festival plush toy. Schedule:

The festival kicks off at 4 p.m. on Friday, July 25, and the party keeps going until 11 p.m. It picks back up on Saturday, July 26, at 2 p.m., finishing at 11 p.m.

Parking and Transportation:
Free parking is available on Friday after 6 p.m. and all day Saturday at the Mississauga Civic Centre, the Living Arts Centre and the Hazel McCallion Central Library.

The festival is accessible via MiWay public transit. Kids five and under are always free with an accompanying fare-paying rider, and those ages six to twelve can get free fare with a Presto pass.

What to See and Do

Live Entertainment on the Main Stage

From the hottest modern music to nostalgic Bollywood, Kollywood and Tollywood music and dance, the  #BollywoodMonster Main Stage will host an incredible lineup of exciting shows.

On Friday, catch headliner Jyotica Tangri, the renowned playback singer known for the hit song Pallo Latke. On Sunday, catch Indian Idol finalist Nirali Fozdar. Throughout the weekend, 17 more acts will perform, including the #BollywoodMonster Orchestra, an electrifying 10-piece ensemble, performing original mashup arrangements of Bollywood and non-South Asian genres in an exciting music and dance production.

Kids Zone

Young attendees can have a blast with free shows and activities designed just for them in the Tim Hortons Kids Zone. Throughout the festival, the family stage will host thrilling kid-friendly performances including music, magic and circus acts. Chris Westfall will bring his illusory act to the stage, Zoe Stardust will amaze viewers with an unforgettable bubble show, Lyza Moon will showcase some hula hoop artistry, and kids can go on a magical safari adventure during a fun musical show.

As a South-Asian arts festival, the kids’ zone wouldn’t be complete without creative activities for the youngest visitors. The Hazel McCallion Central Library Makerspace will be on-site with a fun button-making craft, while the Malton Women Council will bring even more arts and crafts to the festival. Visitors can also be the canvas themselves at the face painting station.

Along with artistic endeavors, kids can put their skills to the test at the Indian Kids Club’s obstacle course before going on an exhilarating ride down the inflatable slide.

Food Festival
Enjoy some of the best flavours of South Asia and beyond, along with classic festival fare and treats, from local vendors including Himalayan Momo, Bliss Gelato, Kesar Kulfi, Happy Twist Potatoes, Honest Food Corner and many more.

Recreation Activities

Join the Mississauga Ramblers for some cricket target games for a chance to win exciting prizes.

Photo Ops

Snap a pic at special selfie spots throughout the festival, inspired by Bollywood films and stars.

Market

Shop for handcrafted items, dazzling jewelry, elegant fragrances, fashionable clothing and more at the marketplace.
