With over 215 locations across Canada and the United States, Osmow’s has become a household name and a staple of modern Mediterranean fast-casual dining. But before it became a nationwide sensation, this North American icon got its humble start right here in Streetsville in 2001. Founded by Sam Osmow, the very first location on Queen Street South transformed a local craving into a massive franchise empire. Today, you can still visit that original Streetsville storefront to order their famous chicken shawarma wrap or legendary, saucy “shawarma on the rocks”—just the way locals did over two decades ago.
This family-owned and operated powerhouse built an incredible reputation in Mississauga before expanding its authentic Vietnamese comfort food to new locations in Etobicoke and Downtown Toronto. Union Social Eatery built its stellar reputation on fresh, scratch-made food and a lively neighbourhood atmosphere. The brand opened its very first flagship location on Financial Drive in Mississauga. It became a massive success as a local after-work hangout spot. Because of this local popularity, the brand successfully expanded into Toronto with locations like Yonge & St. Clair.

For years, Shiroshi Sushi was one of the best-kept culinary secrets in City Centre, operating out of a cosy spot on Enfield Place. Known for its minimalist elegance and master-chef-led omakase experiences, Shiroshi gained a cult-like following for its custom “Mississauga Exclusive” sets. That local dedication paid off, and they have officially taken their celebrated, high-end sushi craft into the heart of Toronto.
