The Art of Presence: Forest Bathing and Sound Immersion

October 8 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

There is an art to slowing down, and most of us have forgotten it. Come be inspired by facilitator Tina De Luca in a two-hour immersive wellness experience inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku (forest bathing).

The evening begins outdoors with a guided forest bathing experience around the grounds of the Small Arms Inspection Building. Through mindful walking and sensory awareness, you’ll be invited to slow down, notice the natural environment, and reconnect with the present moment.

Following a short comfort break, the session moves indoors for a restorative sound immersion using crystal singing bowls. Through sound, vibration and guided relaxation, you’ll be encouraged to settle the nervous system, quiet the mind and leave feeling grounded and refreshed.

No previous experience is necessary. Please dress appropriately for spending time outdoors. Participants are also encouraged to bring their own cushion.

Please note: If weather conditions mean the outdoor portion cannot take place, the workshop will move indoors. The forest bathing experience will be thoughtfully adapted into an immersive indoor sensory practice using guided mindfulness, nature-inspired sounds, grounding objects and reflective observation before continuing with the sound immersion as planned.
