It’s nearly time for back-to-school and Autumn is almost on its way, but the summer fun isn’t stopping in Mississauga. Make the most of your month with these fantastic events happening every week.

Ongoing Events

  • Journey to Isla Nublar and come the closest you’ll ever get to real dinosaurs at Jurassic World: The Exhibition.
  • Learn how you can take climate action at We are Resilient, a travelling exhibition featuring perspectives from scientific leaders and compelling photographs and stories created by Mississauga residents until September 4.  
  • Shop for local, sustainable produce, unique artisan products and more at the Port Credit Farmers Market every Saturday from June 3 – October 7 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Elmwood lot. (3 Elmwood Ave. North)
  • Visit the Lions Farmers Market every Wednesday from June 7 – October 11 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to support local farmers while enjoying some of the city’s finest produce and homemade goods.
  • Back for its fourth season, visit the Lakeview Farmers’ and Artisan Market at the Small Arms Inspection Building for a unique indoor and outdoor market experience featuring shopping, activities and live entertainment.
  • Explore identity, home and belonging at Mississauga Stories, four unique exhibitions across two historic sites, the Bradley Museum and the Small Arms Inspection Building, until December 17. 
  • From September 21 until December 18, fantastical sculptures, authentic saloon doors, cowboy-inspired artifacts and more in No Place, in an exhibit that showcases the landscapes and myths of the American Southwest at the Bradley Museum.

September 1st - 3rd

  • September 1: Cheer on the Mississauga Steelheads as they face off against the Guelph Storm in an Exhibition game at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre.
  • September 1: Enjoy a performance by Waves by Philoso7her at the Streetsville Village Square Summer Concert Series.
  • September 1: Be a part of the first-ever RED FM ‘Summer Bhangra Jam,’ a one-day festival featuring a free concert with international Punjabi superstars, Bhangra performances, food trucks, dancing, shopping, a KidsZone, fashion shows and more at Celebration Square.
  • September 2: Support up-and-coming musical talent including rapper ManLikeMani, DJ Nnye, DJ bLizard and enjoy a live band at Love Local Music: The Big Gig at the Small Arms Inspection Building.
  • September 3: Listen to the smooth jazz of the Jay Boehmer Trio and friends during the Port Credit Memorial Park Summer Concert Series.

September 4th - 10th

  • September 8 – 10: Bring your dancing shoes to Port Credit and head to the 25th annual Southside Shuffle blues and jazz festival. 
  • September 8: Head to the Celebration Square Amphitheatre for an evening of alternative rock originals at Love Local Music: Rick Moss Live.
  • September 8: Be transported to one of Mesopotamia’s greatest gifts at From the Gardens of Babylon, a performance of Iraqi music presented by Hassan Tamim, accompanied by members of the Canadian Arabic Orchestra and Choir at the Meadowvale Theatre.
  • September 9: Get some unique shopping in at the monthly event The Antique Market at the Small Arms Inspection Building.
  • September 9: Celebrate Portugal’s cultural diversity while enjoying performances of traditional folklore, music from abroad and local, traditional cuisine, history, geography and a very unique Lisbon Style Group Wedding ceremony at Portugalo Fest in Celebration Square.
  • September 10: Visit the Meadowvale Theatre Open House for an exclusive look behind the scenes at your local community theatre, plus some free family-friendly fun including ice cream,  crafts and more.

September 11th - 17th

  • September 13: Enjoy beautiful Ukrainian Arias and folk songs along with Polish artists during Spirit of Ukraine presented by the Ukrainian Culture Festival at the Living Arts Centre.
  • September 14: Snack on appetizers and enjoy a cash bar as you learn more about Indwell’s supportive housing programs at the Mississauga Hope & Homes Social at the Small Arms Inspection Building.
  • September 15: Be a part of the ultimate concert of all things made in Mississauga, as “Made in Sauga” brings together local hip-hop artists at Love Local: Made in Sauga Rap Nite at the Small Arms Inspection Building.
  • September 16: Experience the finest art, brightest culture, and best cuisine of South, East, and Southeast Asia in Canada during Tastes of South East Asia (SEA) – Moonfest at Celebration Square.
  • September 16: Celebrate the best from the local music community at the Mississauga Music Awards 2023 at the Living Arts Centre.
