Created by acclaimed choreographer and Artistic Director Bengt Jörgen to Tchaikovsky’s well-loved score\, this delightful classic is a favourite that brings magic to the holidays.  \n\n\n\nBorn from a collaboration with Kleinburg’s world renowned McMichael Canadian Art Collection\, and with well over 100 costumes in richly coloured fabrics\, The Nutcracker: A Canadian Tradition brings out the magic of Canada. 20th Century landscapes make up the stunning 30-foot backdrops\, including Franklin Carmichael’s Church and Houses at Bisset (1931)\, Tom Thompson’s Snow in the Woods (1916)\, and L.L. Fitzgerald’s Trees and Wildflowers (1922). This is a beautiful Canadian work\, and audiences are taken on Klara’s familiar\, magical dream journey as she arrives in Canada and experiences winter landscapes filled with snowflakes\, lumberjacks\, Mounties\, and creatures of the woods. This celebration of the wonder of the season is based on the popular traditional story The Nutcracker and the King of Mice by E.T.A. Hoffman\, enjoyed by audiences for years.  \n\n\n\nThe ballet’s second act is remembered for its celebration of varied dances\, and our charming divertissements of raccoons\, loons\, dragonflies\, and bears demonstrate Klara’s longing for the summer months as she travels excitedly through her dreams. The iconic\, show-stopping pas-de-deux in the final act is lovingly danced by Lord and Lady Birch as they usher Klara safely home at the end of the adventure. Ballet Jörgen’s Nutcracker is destined to become a national treasure that will warm the hearts of young and old alike. Known for their role as a series regular in Marvel’s upcoming series IRONHEART\, Couleé gained widespread recognition for winning season five of VH1’s Emmy-winning competition series RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars. They were a finalist on both season nine of RuPaul’s Drag Race and season seven of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Winners. They were one of the first queens to walk Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty Show and the first queen to wear haute couture on the Drag Race runway in Valentino. Couleé serves as the executive producer and creative director of The Love Ball tour\, where they performed alongside other prominent drag queens\, earning widespread praise for its high-caliber production and performances. They also headlined the sold-out international tour The Lipstick Ball\, further solidifying their status as a leading figure in the drag and entertainment communities. Their debut album\, 8\, premiered at #1 on the iTunes music dance charts\, and they have worked with musicians\, including providing direct support for Betty Who\, opening for Chappell Roan and Christina Aguilera\, appearing in music videos for artists like Iggy Azalea and Brooke Candy\, and more. SUMMARY:Cruisers Cup - Para Ice Hockey Tournament
DESCRIPTION:Cruisers Sports was formed in September 1986\, by a dedicated group of parents who wanted their children to be able to participate in sports. Recreational and competitive opportunities are provided in adapted sports including boccia\, track and field\, para ice hockey\, wheelchair basketball\, as well as a multi-sports program. These programs promote the development of teamwork\, confidence\, independence as well as the social interaction of being a part of a sports organization. \n\n\n\nCruisers Sports has since evolved into one of the largest sports organizations for people with physical disabilities. Boasting well over 125 members\, the organization is 100% volunteer driven and is overseen by a twelve person board of directors. Due to the organization’s sheer size and athletic diversity\, Cruisers Sports is one of the most recognizable brands in the adapted sports community. \n\n\n\nSeveral Cruisers Sports athletes and coaches have risen to the pinnacle of their respective sports\, representing the organization and country at national and international sporting events including the National Championships\, Parapan Am Games\, World Championships and the Paralympics. \n\n\n\nAs a recognized charitable organization #89955 5122 RR0001\, all funds raised are put towards the programs offered and the expensive specialized equipment needed for persons with disabilities to participate in various sports. \n\n\n\nFor more information on programs\, fees\, volunteer or sponsorship opportunities please contact the appropriate executive member or email questions@cruisers-sports.com.

DESCRIPTION:Presented by B-Jazzed & a saugaLIVE Presents Event \n\n\n\nJazz pioneer Morris “Moe” Koffman was one of Canada’s most celebrated multi-instrumentalists. It was the flute\, however\, that arguably became his best-known instrument\, thanks to hits like “Curried Soul” and “Swingin’ Shepherd Blues.” With more than 30 albums recorded over 40 years\, Koffman explored a wide range of music genres with a fluidity born of the discipline of classical but the experimentation of jazz. Born in Toronto in 1928\, he was called “one of Canada’s jazz institutions” by the New York Times\, was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 1997\, and was named an officer of the Order of Canada in 1993. \n\n\n\nThis tribute concert will feature an evening of music from Moe’s repertoire\, performed by a stellar quintet led by Moe’s grandson\, Jake Koffman\, a talented and versatile multi-instrumentalist in his own right\, carrying on the sounds of his legendary grandfather.

This two-day festival features original\, hand-crafted work by artists\, live music\, food vendors\, and hands-on art workshops. Art in the Park proudly features interactive art experiences led by artists from our collaborative BIPOC Artist Residency\, a program dedicated to supporting and amplifying underrepresented voices in the arts community of Mississauga. Our resident artists invite visitors of all ages to participate in a fun\, free drop-in activity.
