SUMMARY:Moneka Arabic Jazz
DESCRIPTION:Moneka Arabic Jazz\nPlease join the Chamber Music Society of Mississauga in welcoming Moneka Arabic Jazz to the RBC Theatre as we close out the first season of our new Signature Series. \nRooted in jazz and blues\, Moneka Arabic Jazz draws from bandleader Ahmed Moneka’s Afro-Iraqi heritage and his recent experiences in Toronto’s own multicultural mix: creating a distinct\, funky\, and unique sound. \nAhmed’s music reflects his journey from Baghdad to Toronto – with many stops in between. Please note that all youth (under 18 years old) require to be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the event (guardian/parent/caregiver). Please also sign up for the event to claim your individual spots and enjoy a family-fun activity! \nPlease note that these workshops may be photographed/video recorded. Therefore\, all participants will be required to sign a media consent release form upon arrival. \nWORKSHOP DETAILS: \nThis workshop is the final in a series from artist Pandora Wilhelm (from Mulberry Design and Engravings)\, for the Lakeview Village Discovery Centre artist-in-residence program\, in partnership with Artscape Atelier. \nAges: This is a family workshop\, children and their caregivers are welcome. Children under 12 years of age may best enjoy this stage/type of puzzle. \nSkill: All skill levels welcome. \nThe goal of this workshop is for a collaborative effort within a family unit to create a puzzle featuring the families language representation. The puzzles will already be cut out and engraved\, so families will work together to sand their puzzles\, glue them together and then paint the animals. This will also encourage families to look at what their traditional art forms may be and demonstrate how art can take different forms. \nAhead of time\, when registering we will ask the language that your family want for the animals as well as the name you would like along the top. Please note you will be creating 1 puzzle per family/or per child attending\, however you will be required to create separate tickets for each member of your family attending\, so we can keep track of total numbers in the space. \nShare this
