DESCRIPTION:Puppet Festival Mississauga: Presented by Crane Creations Theatre Company \nWelcome to Puppet Festival Mississauga – A deep dive into the creative world of puppetry and animation! \nAbout this Event \nPuppet Festival Mississauga is a seven day puppetry festival taking place in Mississauga March 8th -15th 2023; it is filled with exciting shows engaging workshops and an informative exhibition that discover the art of puppetry from its origin to its advancement. Puppet Festival Mississauga aims to connect professional puppeteers from around the world and bridge cultures through one of the oldest and most common art forms. \nPuppet Festival Mississauga engages in the conversation about art and society by introducing\, examining and celebrating various forms of animating objects. It is our mission to ignite a reflection of the world in our audiences by connecting the past and the future. We celebrate traditional forms of puppetry and the skills of the puppet designers and performers while expanding the conversation of what is puppetry and animation and how it touches the contemporary world.  \nThe festival takes place at various locations all over Mississauga with a variety of shows and performances available for all ages and families to enjoy! \nJoin us from March 8 – 15\, 2023 to gift an experience of discovery\, joy and laughter through puppets to you and your loved ones. DESCRIPTION:You are invited to a community art workshop series in Mississauga\, as part of the Lakeview Village Discovery Centre Artists-In-Residence Program\, in partnership with Artscape Atelier. \nThe first 3 workshops are happening during March Break\, so sign up and come by for thoughtful creative activities and Indigenous knowledge sharing opportunities! \n*Limited spots available. Please reserve your tickets to save your spot. We will not exceed the capacity of each workshop\, but will have a waitlist in case any cancellations occur.* \nThe below artists will be sharing their Indigenous knowledge in a number of thoughtful art workshops\, all levels are welcome! \n*** \nArtists\, Naomi Smith (Black Tulip Designs) and Pandora Wilhelm (Mulberry Design & Engravings) are this years artists-in-residence\, and will be holding a variety of exciting and inspiring community art workshops inspired by their Indigenous knowledge and our connection to water\, in a series of six workshops total (three workshops per artist). \nThese workshops are geared to older Youth and adults (recommended age 13-15+) and parents/guardians! This event is in person indoors at the Discovery Centre Gallery. Please note that all youth (under 18 years old) require to be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the event (guardian/parent). Please also sign up for the event to claim your individual spots and enjoy a family-fun activity! \nNaomi Smith (Black Tulip Designs) first 2 workshops will happen during March Break on: Tuesday March 14th (11am-3:30pm) and Wednesday March 15th (11am-3:30pm). \nPandora Wilhelm (Mulberry Design & Engravings) first workshop will happen during March Break on: Thursday March 16th (10am-3pm). \nArtists will also have a further 3 total workshops happening during April and May 2023 (dates and details to be announced)! \nWe hope to see you there! \nShare this
