SUMMARY:A City in Tune: Mississauga Music Exhibition Launch
DESCRIPTION:Visitors are invited to the Adamson Estate for the opening reception of A City in Tune: Mississauga’s Greatest Hits\, the newest exhibition from Museums of Mississauga. \n\n\n\nTaking place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.\, the event will feature complimentary refreshments and an opportunity to be among the first to experience the exhibition. The official opening will include remarks from Councillor Dasko at 11:00 a.m. \n\n\n\nNamed a Music City in 2023\, Mississauga has built a reputation as a hub for exceptional musical talent and innovation. A City in Tune showcases nearly 70 years of the city’s musical history through a collection of instruments\, stage outfits\, archival materials\, memorabilia\, and other iconic artifacts. The exhibition highlights the artists\, innovators\, and community builders who have helped shape Mississauga’s vibrant music scene. \n\n\n\nBuilding on the success of the city’s first music history exhibition at Bradley Museum in 2025\, this reimagined exhibition explores new stories and celebrates some of Mississauga’s most influential musicians. Guests will discover the people\, places\, and creative spaces that have contributed to the city’s musical legacy from the 1960s to today. \n\n\n\nPlease note that Adamson Estate has a maximum capacity of 60 guests at one time. If capacity is reached\, entry will be paused until space becomes available. While the opening reception runs from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.\, visitors are welcome to explore the exhibition until 4:00 p.m. on the opening day. Following the launch\, the exhibition will be open Thursday through Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. throughout its run. \n\n\n\nFor additional information\, contact Museums of Mississauga at museums@mississauga.ca.

SUMMARY:The Art of Presence: Forest Bathing and Sound Immersion
DESCRIPTION:There is an art to slowing down\, and most of us have forgotten it. Come be inspired by facilitator Tina De Luca in a two-hour immersive wellness experience inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku (forest bathing). \n\n\n\nThe evening begins outdoors with a guided forest bathing experience around the grounds of the Small Arms Inspection Building. Through mindful walking and sensory awareness\, you’ll be invited to slow down\, notice the natural environment\, and reconnect with the present moment. \n\n\n\nFollowing a short comfort break\, the session moves indoors for a restorative sound immersion using crystal singing bowls. Through sound\, vibration and guided relaxation\, you’ll be encouraged to settle the nervous system\, quiet the mind and leave feeling grounded and refreshed. \n\n\n\nNo previous experience is necessary. Please dress appropriately for spending time outdoors. Participants are also encouraged to bring their own cushion.  \n\n\n\nPlease note: If weather conditions mean the outdoor portion cannot take place\, the workshop will move indoors. The forest bathing experience will be thoughtfully adapted into an immersive indoor sensory practice using guided mindfulness\, nature-inspired sounds\, grounding objects and reflective observation before continuing with the sound immersion as planned.
