Please note that all youth (under 18 years old) require to be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the event (guardian/parent/caregiver). Please also sign up for the event to claim your individual spots and enjoy a family-fun activity! \nPlease note that these workshops may be photographed/video recorded. Children under 12 years of age may best enjoy this stage/type of puzzle. \nSkill: All skill levels welcome. \nThe goal of this workshop is for a collaborative effort within a family unit to create a puzzle featuring the families language representation. The puzzles will already be cut out and engraved\, so families will work together to sand their puzzles\, glue them together and then paint the animals. This will also encourage families to look at what their traditional art forms may be and demonstrate how art can take different forms. \nAhead of time\, when registering we will ask the language that your family want for the animals as well as the name you would like along the top. Please note you will be creating 1 puzzle per family/or per child attending\, however you will be required to create separate tickets for each member of your family attending\, so we can keep track of total numbers in the space. \nShare this

SUMMARY:Brushes with the Ethereal. Opening Event
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Friday\, May 5th\, from 6-9 pm for the opening event of Brushes with the Ethereal. This Collector’s Preview event allows those in attendance a first look at our Spring collection of original artworks before it goes live online. Many of the participating artists will be present to speak about their new pieces. We will also introduce the work of our two newest artists: Max Wright and Judy Willemsma\, both local to Mississauga. There will be a live painting demonstration\, and light refreshments will be served. \nCuratorial Statement: \nThis exhibition of original works by local artists\, titled Brushes with the Ethereal\, aims to draw a connection between the process of creating a work of art and the experience of interpreting the finished piece. Connecting the threads of maker and viewer\, this show brings together art enthusiasts\, art collectors\, and artists alike to consider what the function of art truly is. Artwork is created with intention and consideration by the artist\, curated by an admirer\, and then becomes a vessel filled with meaning that reflects the viewer’s experiences. The lifespan of an artwork connects stories and emotions in a way that nothing else can\, reflecting the nature of individuals and their interconnectivity. It allows for a chance to explore new perspectives and diverse ideas. Art is something to be shared and echoes the zeitgeist of our time. \nThe term “ethereal” refers to something “extremely delicate and light in a way that seems too perfect for this world.” The creation of unique and original artwork facilitates an ethereal connection between individuals\, something that is important to advocate for\, especially in a world so filled with adversity and polarity. \n  \n  \nShare this
