DESCRIPTION:The annual City of Mississauga Resident Artist exhibition has returned. This year’s theme is Change. Transition. Sustain\, which speaks to the artists’ collective experience as creators and makers during times of change. \nJoin us at the Small Arms Inspection Building for the opening event on April 27\, 2023\, from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm\, or visit the exhibition between April 18 to May 25. \nThe Resident Artist program is designed to support emerging and mid-career artists and artisans in developing and maintaining their art and design practices. The exhibition features works from numerous artistic disciplines including woodworking\, textiles\, glass\, ceramics\, photography\, and painting. SUMMARY:What’s for Dinner? Exploring Locally Sourced Meals in Southern Ontario: Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Visit the Bradley Museum from April 27 to July 30 to explore the exhibition topic of how local foods invoke nostalgia\, represent the past and present\, and bring people together. \nDiscover the many ways food is grown\, shared\, and eaten in the City of Mississauga. Hear stories from community members\, learn about seasonal crops\, and discover the diversity of dishes enjoyed by local residents. Food is more than sustenance – it fosters community\, reflects identity\, and represents the land and people it comes from. \nOn-site activities for all ages will be available including ‘Guess the crop’ flip-up panels\, plush planting games\, and a recipe card community board. \nThe exhibition includes free entry\, however\, there is an opportunity to give back to the community in the form of non-perishable food donations. The Compass Food Bank will have a collection bin on-site\, with a preference for the following items: tuna\, peanut butter\, breakfast cereal\, canned meats (turkey/chicken/ham)\, and canned pasta. \nShare this

DESCRIPTION:Mississauga Festival Choir explores the environmental challenges facing our world through music in looking at our relationship with land\, earth and sky. The evening features the enthralling Celtic Mass for the Sea by Canadians Scott MacMillan and Jennyfer Brickenden for choir and Celtic ensemble. \n\nThe concert will also include a selection of songs that reflect the treatment of our world including several works by Indigenous composers. Concert-goers will be treated to art installations from local artists focused on our world and a portion of ticket sales will be donated to organizations dedicated to saving our planet for future generations. \nPlease note: Discounts available for students\, seniors\, children 12 and under and babies under 2.
