SUMMARY:The ptsi maskisina (Mini Moccasin) virtual workshop
DESCRIPTION:Artscape Atelier\, in partnership with Lakeview Village presents the ‘The ptsi maskisina (Mini Moccasin)’ virtual workshop\, led by indigenous artist Pandora Wilhelm from Mulberry Design & Engravings\, as part of the Discovery Centre Artists-In-Residence Workshop Series. \nThis offers participants an opportunity to learn about traditional Indigenous knowledge and clothing while exploring their own creative expression. The workshop is designed for participants to create a contemporary pair of miniature moccasins using natural materials such as seed beads\, sinew\, suede cording\, and soft deer hide. \nParticipants will start by working with the seed beads to create a simple floral design on the toe piece of the moccasin. After completing the beading\, they will then assemble the moccasins for display\, creating a unique art piece. Although no prior experience is required\, participants will benefit from having some comfort with hand sewing and working with seed beads. \nVisit the link to sign up for this virtual workshop! \nShare this
